PHOENIX AVE. CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS MOUNTAIN LINE DOWNTOWN CONNECTION CENTER

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (April 10, 2026) – Beginning April 13, 2026, a construction project will kick off near Mountain Line’s Downtown Connection Center (DCC) that will impact vehicular traffic on Phoenix Ave. and bus parking at the DCC.
The construction project is related to the undergrounding of utilities near Phoenix Ave. in preparation for the interim bus plaza conditions Mountain Line will operate in during the Rio de Flag flood control project construction in this area.
Anticipated to last until mid-September 2026, the construction project will have the following impacts:
- Westbound Phoenix Ave. between Beaver St. and Milton Rd. will be limited to bus-only traffic. Right turns from Beaver St. onto Phoenix Ave. will be prohibited and only right turns will be permitted from Mikes Pike onto Phoenix Ave.
- The parking lot to the immediate east of the DCC will be closed to all vehicles except Mountain Line buses and construction equipment. Two ADA stalls will be retained in the southeast corner of the lot. Additional parking is available in the lots to the east, as well as on-street parking throughout Southside.
- Mountain Line buses will not have access to Phoenix Ave. and will utilize the entire parking lot to the east of the DCC building, with several routes parking in different locations for passenger pick-up/drop-off (download the map here):
-
- Routes 4 and 5: Northernmost lane of the parking lot, just south of the railroad tracks
- Routes 10 and 14: Middle platform
- Routes 3, 8, and 66: Southernmost platform, just north of Phoenix Ave.
- Routes 2 and 7: Driveway between the parking lot and the DCC building.
20-minute parking stalls (including one ADA stall) are available for Mountain Line customers on Phoenix Ave. in front of the DCC. Due to the westbound
- Phoenix Ave. closure, all traffic will need to enter from Milton Rd. to access these stalls.
Mountain Line is the transit agency in northern Arizona operating fixed route bus service on nine routes, paratransit service, vanpool, and seasonal Mountain
